Clinic List for Rumney Rendezvous 2017:
Zen and the Art of Climbing- Most climbers can appreciate the fact that a huge portion of the climbing game happens in our heads. In this clinic Lee Hansche will share some philosophies and techniques that will help you improve your mental game on the rocks.
Strength and Mobility Balance for Climbers- Most of us are either plenty strong but less flexible or we can put our leg over our heads but have trouble engaging the necessary muscles once we get there. Certified Exercise Physiologist and long time climber Nicole Hansche will teach us how we can improve the balance between these things and make some climbing gains!
RockTape for climbers- Kinesio taping is becoming commonplace in many sports. Nicole and Lee Hansche will go over the benefits of taping various climber specific issues discussing how it works and common applications that will prove useful for climbers.
Mooney Mountain Guides will be running the following clinics:
Projecting- This will cover everything from how to select an appropriate project route as well as how to effectively dog your way up, sus out moves and devise a sending strategy.
Intro to Trad Climbing- In this clinic you will get a primer on how to begin your journey into Traditional climbing. Basic gear placement and anchors will be among the topics covered.
Safe Anchor Management- There are a great many accidents every year due to mistakes while cleaning and managing anchors. If safety is your first priority and you are new to outdoor climbing this might just be a good clinic for you.
Intro To Lead Climbing- Perhaps you have been Leading indoors but haven’t taken the game to the outdoors yet. Or maybe your top roping is on point but you are curious about this leading stuff. This clinic covers the basics of leading so you can see if the sharp end of the rope is where you belong.
